Camping La Farigoulette & Verdon Gorge

Verdon Gorge

After a week of luxury at Eurocamp, we were actually quite excited to get down and dirty and back to camping.

This campsite ended up being one of our favourites and we would 💯 recommend. it is no surprise to us it has five stars!

Amazing staff, pool, restaurant, great park, a lake, a treetop course and a ravine of dreams. We chose this site because it had access to Verdon Gorge which I had found on Pinterest years before. We hired a boat at the cabin on the lake and had THE most beautiful afternoon we’d had so far. We were floating down river with our toes dipped in the turquoise water almost in disbelief at what we were experiencing. PURE BEAUTY. We felt so grateful to be living this absolute dream come true. I definitley felt emotional a couple of times.

We also had a go on the tree top adventure course – which for someone like me who doesn’t have a head for heights, was pretty bloody terrifying. There’s one for smaller kids and one for big kids. I wanted to show Ivy that I’m a ‘cool mom’ but unfortunately there was no escaping the fact that I absolutely am not! She put me to shame with her daredevil attitiude, but I was so proud as I watched her nailing the two higher level courses I couldn’t bring myself to.

“Don’t look down”

One of the things I love about French campsites is everything seems to have been thought through – the bar/restaurant is usually situated right next to the park so the adults can relax while the kids burn off every extra ounce of energy they have left. That way at bedtime, they’re asleep before their head hits the pillow – and we’re free to watch the sun coming down with a glass of fine french merlot in hand.

We had three nights here and enjoyed every single moment of it before we hit the road towards Calais, stopping in Beaune again.

  • The Junior Club : children can take part in activities alongside other children their age and the Farigoulette campsite activity leaders. Games, creative workshops, face painting, sports activities , this is what awaits children from 5 to 12 years old .
  • In high and low season, enjoy the proximity to the Gorges du Verdon and the Verdon Regional Natural Park . In addition to direct access to Lake Montpezat, discover, near the campsite, the magnificent medieval village of Bauduen or Lake Sainte-Croix.

We stopped off at Baudinard- Sur-Verdon bridge for a breathtaking view. Easily the highest bridge I’ve ever walked across. Verdon was probably our most favourite place of all!
